Infiniti: We’ll Have An All-Electric Sedan Ready For 2015
Combining luxury with fuel economy seems to be all the rage these days with automakers. Infiniti in an effort to meet and exceed expectations released a sketch and a plan to produce an all-electric subcompact luxurious Infiniti vehicle in 2014. The Infiniti vehicle will be loosely based on the Nissan Leaf but more luxurious of course and with all of the Infiniti trimmings.

Infiniti -- the luxury sister brand of Nissan -- has been joining in the electric car hype at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show with talk of an all-electric subcompact car it will have ready for sometime in 2014.
This isn’t the first time Infiniti has talked electric cars. Last year, Infiniti boss Toru Saito let slip that the Japanese brand was working on an all-new subcompact car -- but didn’t detail when we’d see it hit the market.
Later on last year, Infiniti told us to expect its first electric car in 2013 -- but according to Infiniti chief creative officer and senior vice president Shiro Nakamura, the luxury marque will have its own all-electric car ready for the 2015 model year.
Based loosely on the 2012/13 Nissan Leaf and sharing many of its key components, the new Infiniti electric will enable the luxury brand to enter into the subcompact market for the very first time.
Infiniti seems keen to keep us all guessing on exact specifications and performance figures -- but previous reports have suggested that it will most certainly have a larger battery pack and higher performance than Nissan’s family car.
What we do have is an updated sketch of what the all-new electric car will look like, along with the promise that it will arrive some time in 2014 for the 2015 model year.
